Anvil Studios’ nature-inspired design for Aquor handles

LP found: Fit form to function – “Design for shape or pattern based on need or purpose” (BMY Design Lens 2023)

How it shows up: Mimics the tree branch angle for efficient water flow.

This LP is the first one we spot since this handle looks like a tree branch. Tree branches deliver water in trees, so it makes sense to observe and study this form. Since trees have been perfecting this function for millions of years in their own “R&D labs”, we assume that they must be excellent at it.

Indeed, quick research shows that trees are masters of water delivery: their branches split at angles around 30–70°, which makes their water flow smooth and efficient. This follows Murray’s law. Smarter than the 90° corners we humans love to build?

LP found: Be resourceful with material and energy – “Optimize the use of resources and take advantage of opportunities” (BMY Design Lens 2023)

How it shows up: Utilizes durable materials for longevity. Overmold material is only applied where it is functionally needed.

This LP is observed after studying the final product and then confirming with the design team. What we see here is that the handle is relatively small and uses a very thin layer of overmold where it is absolutely necessary for a good grip.
